Life isn't just about keeping score. It's not about how many people call you And it's not about who you've dated or haven't dated at all. It isn't about who you've kissed, What sport you play, Or which guy or girl likes you. It's not about your shoes or your hair Or the color of your skin, Or where you live or go to school. In fact it's not about grades, money, Clothes, or colleges that accept you or not. Life isn't about if you have lots of friends or if you are alone, And it's not about how accepted or unaccepted you are. Life isn't about that. But life is about who you love and who you hurt. It's about how you feel about yourself. It's about trust, happiness, and compassion. It's about avoiding jealousy, overcoming ignorance And building confidence. It's about what you say and what you mean. It's about seeing people for who they are and not for what they have. Most of all it is choosing to use your life. In a way that could have neverbeen achieved otherwise. These choices are what life's about... As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. you just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back. While most people love you for who you pretend to be... to keep their love, you keep pretending--performing. You get to love your pretense... it's true, we're locked in an image, an act. And, the sad thing is, people get so used to their image, they grow attached to their masks. They love their chains. They forget all about who they really are. And, if you try to remind them, they hate you for it. They feel like you're trying to steal their most precious possession.
